Omar ibn Al-Khattab Charitable Society – Zarqa participated in an event held by the Zarqa Social Development Directorate to mark the International Day of Older Persons. The event took place at the Princess Muna Al-Hussein Center for Elderly Women and was attended by representatives of local community organizations. Other participating organizations included Namaa Association for Social Development and the Islamic Culture Charitable Association for the Care of Orphan Girls – Zarqa. Moataz Mbaydeen, Director of Social Development in Zarqa, emphasized the importance of caring for and honoring older persons and recognizing their contributions to their families and communities. He also praised the role of community organizations in supporting them and promoting solidarity and compassion. Father Farah, Chairman of the Orthodox Association, spoke about the importance of showing older persons gratitude, love, and care, noting that this reflects the unity and cohesion of society. Mohammad Suleiman Samara, Chairman of Omar ibn Al-Khattab Charitable Society – Zarqa, praised the efforts of the Social Development Directorate and the staff of the Princess Muna Al-Hussein Center for Elderly Women. He highlighted the importance of cooperation between public institutions and charitable organizations, and of fostering respect, appreciation, and care for older persons. Ehab Awwad, Director of Namaa Association for Social Development, underscored the value of joint efforts by institutions and associations in carrying out community initiatives. He noted that supporting older persons is a shared responsibility and that gatherings like this strengthen solidarity and connections across the community. The event included interactive activities and presentations. Symbolic gifts were also given to the women at the center as a gesture of love, appreciation, and gratitude in recognition of the occasion.All News
